Amazing Chinese Characters (384) Observe - 观（觀）

 The bronze script of the character Observe is

The left is Stork (Post 176), the right is Meet (Post 201). See something like a Stork with big eyes is Observe as it finds a rat on the ground, its eyes are following the rat all the time.

The big seal script of the character is

Similar to bronze script, the left is Stork, the right is Meet.

The small seal script of the character is

Similar to older scripts.

The clerical script of the character is

Similar to small seal script.

The song typeface for traditional character is

觀

Same as the clerical script.

The song typeface for simplified character is

观

The left becomes 又, the right changes to 见.  I understand how 見 to 见 （See Post 201）, but don't understand the change of 雚 to 又, and can't find the explanation any where online and off line.  This change destroys the pictography completely.

Its Pinyin is Guan1.
